Welcome to Privacy Policy pages for the family websites of DISCO International, Inc. (“DI”), which family of websites are defined as the DI Sites on DI’s Terms of Use & Privacy Policy welcome page. These pages describe how DI treats the “personally identifiable information” (defined below) that is collected about you (or as may be provided to us from other business about you) when you access the DI Sites. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy do not access the DI Sites.

What is Personally Identifiable Information

Personally identifiable information” is information that we can use to identify you as an individual. Business accessing or using the DI Sites

Unless otherwise agreed in a separate signed writing by and between DI and any business that accesses or uses the DI Sites, this Privacy Policy applies equally to those businesses in all respects without limitation.

Information This Privacy Policy Does Not Apply to

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected about you by anyone except DI and only applies to the pages of the DI Sites. Any information you provide when you visit websites other than the DI Sites or when you purchase any products or services or enter contests that may be linked to or advertised on the DI Sites by companies other than DI is subject to the privacy policies of the third parties who run and/or own these websites. Unless otherwise specified herein, this privacy policy also does not apply to information you may provide to us offline.

FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, IN THE EVENT YOU DIRECT DI TO SHARE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION AS FURNISHED BY YOU WITH A SPECIFIC PERSON OR ENTITY (E.G., OTHER COMPANIES IN THE HUMAN RESOURCE INDUSTRY, POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS, SCHOOLS, ETC…), YOU HEREBY EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT SUCH THIRD PARTY’S TREATMENT OF YOUR INFORMATION SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE PRIVACY POLICIES OF THE THIRD PARTIES WHO RUN AND/OR OWN THOSE COMPANIES. Children

DI Sites are not intended for use by children, especially those under age 13. No one under age 13 is allowed to provide any personal information or use our public discussion areas, forums and chats. To subscribe to newsletters and to participate in other activities where personal information is divulged if you are between the ages of 13 and 17 you should get the permission of your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) before registering or subscribing to any product or service, or participating in any manner in the offerings of the DI Sites.

If your children disclose information about themselves in our public discussion areas, they may get unsolicited messages from other parties. Accordingly, you should tell them not to do so. There are also commercially available tools to help you limit your children’s exposure to material online. Information DI Collects

Non-Registered Users

Certain content and functions on the DI Sites are available to all users without registration. DI does not collect any personally identifiable information from you when you visit these areas of the DI Sites.

Registered Users and Subscribers

In order to access some of the more specialized features of the DI Sites you must register with the applicable DI Site as a free user or, if applicable, a paid user. When you register with a DI Sites, we collect personally identifiable information from you that may include your name, email address, city, state and zip code, as well as other information, such as your gender, age, occupation, personal interests and similar information.

In addition, when you use certain specialized features offered to registered DI users, DI may collect additional information about you, such as credit card information, financial information, educational history, employment information as well as certain additional information required by the applicable service.

Collection of Personally Identifiable Information

DI generally collects personally identifiable information with your specific knowledge and consent. For instance, when you enter a promotion, sweepstakes or contest, complete a survey, register for those portions of our sites that may require registration, make a purchase, subscribe to a premium service or subscribe to our newsletters, and other electronic services you will be asked to provide information such as your email address, name, phone number, and shipping address. Information such as your age, gender, hobbies or interests may also be requested. This information may sometimes be collected by third party service providers with whom DI contracts to host the website or to fulfill requests for services; in that event, DI asks such service providers to make the personal information available only to DI for DI to use in accordance with the terms of this policy and not to use the information for any other purpose. General Submissions and User Generated Content: Important

If you elect to post material to any blogs, forums, user-generated content submission activities, visitor or registered user comment areas, participate in our social networking channels or other community boards (collectively referred to as the “Forums”) that may be offered on our sites; or if you elect to upload any photographs, audios or videoss; or if you elect to respond to requests for comments or feedback, Q & A, to polls; or if you elect to furnish any type of user-generated content submission, you will be solely responsible for all contents, messages, texts, files, images, graphics, photos, audio clips, sounds, videos or other materials associated therewith (collectively the foregoing posts, submissions, and uploading shall be referred to as “Postings”).

Furthermore, all information (including, personal identifiable information) contained in any Postings will be handled separately from information DI collects from you or you furnish to DI in connection with visiting or registering with DI Sites or information you elect to submit for the purpose of forwarding such specific information to a third party at your direction (e.g., potential employer/employee or school/student). You hereby acknowledge and agree that by engaging in any Postings you are thereby granting DI the UGC License below with respect to such Postings.

BY SUBMITTING A POSTING IN A FORUM, YOU ARE GRANTING DI A PERPETUAL, UNCONDITIONAL, ROYALTY-FREE, FULLY PAID-UP AND IRREVOCABLE RIGHT AND LICENSE TO USE, SHARE, REPRODUCE, MODIFY, ADAPT, PUBLISH, TRANSLATE, DISTRIBUTE, TRANSMIT, PUBLICLY DISPLAY, PUBLICLY PERFORM, SUBLICENSE, CREATE DERIVATIVE WORKS FROM, TRANSFER, AND SELL ANY SUCH POSTINGS. BY FURNISHING POSTINGS, AND WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, YOU GIVE DI THE RIGHT TO USE SUCH POSTINGS IN ANY MANNER WHATSOEVER AND IN ANY MEDIA NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER INVENTED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE RIGHT TO COMBINE YOUR POSTINGS WITH POSTINGS OF THIRD PARTIES IN VARIED COMBINATIONS. THE FOREGOING INCLUDES ALL ASPECTS OF A POSTING, SPECIFICALLY INCLUDING ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION CONTAINED THEREIN for editorial or commercial purposes. In addition, without limiting the foregoing, if your Postings includes personal anecdotes, they may be attributed to you. DI can edit, rewrite, use, and reuse the content, including your name, likeness, photograph, and biographical information you provide, in any way and any media whether now known or invented in the future, with or without attribution. You agree that any content you send us will not violate any rights of any third party and that you will only send us content for which you own the rights.

Information From Third Party Sources

DI may on occasion combine information we receive online with information we have obtained through third party sources to enhance our ability to market those products or services that may be of interest to you.

Website Usage Information

DI automatically collects IP addresses and website usage information from you when you visit the DI Sites. This information helps us evaluate how our users navigate and use our website, including the number and frequency of visitors and subscribers to each webpage, and the length of their visits.

Additional Uses of Information

DI may also use personally identifiable information collected from you for the following general purposes:

  • to customize the advertising and content you see;
  • to improve the design and content of our site;

Aggregate Information

Aggregate information is information that we (or third party service providers on our behalf) may use cookies to collect about DI Site users on an anonymous basis. We may share aggregate demographic and usage information with our prospective and actual business partners, advertisers and other third parties for any business purpose.

Cookies

DI (or third party service providers on our behalf) may set and access cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small amount of data (often including a unique identifier) that is sent to your browser from a website’s computers and stored on your computer’s hard drive. DI uses cookies to understand site usage and to improve the content and offerings on our site. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, there is an option in most browsers that allows the user not to accept cookies. However, if you set your browser to refuse cookies, you may not be able to take advantage of certain features offered through our website and some portions of our website may not function efficiently.

Web Beacons

We may use web beacons (invisible images often referred to as pixel tags or clear GIFs), which may also be provided by our third party advertising company, on our site in order to help manage our online advertising and to recognize users’ cookies and assess traffic patterns. We may include web beacons in our email messages including newsletters in order to count how many email messages have been opened. Security

Your DI registration information is password-protected for your privacy and security. The personally identifiable information we collect about you is stored in limited access servers. We maintain (directly and through our agents) physical, electronic and procedural security safeguards to protect your personally identifiable information.

DI does not represent or warrant the security of personally identifiable information, and shall have no liability if such security is compromised. In the unlikely event that security of your personally identifiable information in our possession or control may have been compromised, we may seek to notify you of that development. If a notification is appropriate, we would endeavor to do so as promptly as possible under the circumstances, and, to the extent that we have your email address, we may notify you by email.

Review and Correction

DI offers registered users the online ability to correct or update information that we have collected during the registration process. This can be done by visiting your personal registered user page on the applicable DI Site.

California and Canadian Users

California and Canadian residents have the right to know how their information may be shared with third parties who engage in direct marketing activities and this policy explains our practices and how you can opt out of having your information shared for such purposes. From time to time we may make our customer lists available to companies that sell goods and services that we believe would be of interest. Data Retention
